There is something about a new year that makes people Crazy!
Me for example.

I decided that it would be a  fantastic idea to tidy up and organise my clear stamp storage.  A way to try and make my life simpler when I'm making a last minute card at very short notice. A way to prevent me turning my craft room upside down and back to front to make a tiny little card. A way to save me time - 5 mins to make a quick card instead of 2 hours!

Who was I kidding!?

This is a task that is going to take me weeks. I'm already exhausted! Just looking at this photo now fills me with dred!

I started off by putting all my clear stamp storage into a pile in the middle of the room. I sorted into categories (Floral, Sympathy, New Home, New Baby, Wedding, Birthday, Vintage etc etc) and then rather than just putting them away neatly, decided it would be a fabulous idea if I stamped each image onto some paper with a note next to them as to which binder they are stored in.

I can hear you. You agree don't you! It's a great idea. It is a great idea.

I keep repeating that to myself.

I am already starting to mutter under my breath and babble like a mad woman possessed.

So yes. I've now set myself a giant task for the new year.

I'm 252 stamps in and actually can see that yes this will work. (Only 800+ to go).

It IS a great idea.

I will just have to maintain the organisation IF I purchase any new stamps. I say If, because I am thinking I already have way too many. I have more stamps than days in the year. I have more stamps than days in 5 years. I should stop buying them. I should go on  no buying challenge for the first 6 months of the year.

I have too many stamps.

I will never use them all, BUT of course I NEED them all. There will always be that one special occasion when I need a stamp with a lizard on it. Won't there?

Who am I kidding?

I am revamping and moving my craft room very soon. I'm excited by this prospect and will have lots more room. Maybe I need to start streamlining things now. That's it. I should start using up scraps of paper. Start finishing those bottles of paint. Find a use for the little embellishments scattered over my craft table.

So there we have it. My first crafty task of 2013. Tidying this lot up. I've posted today to keep me on track. I cannot give up. I will see this through.
