Snowman Soup

When I saw these cute little snowman mugs in the £1 shop I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!

I added a sachet of hot chocolate, a candycane and some mini marshmallows. Tied it up with Christmas celophane and ribbon and added a cute tag with a poem!

Here is a close up of the poem too. I can't take credit for that, I got it from the internet!

They make great gifts for groups of friends or colleagues, Secret Santas that kind of thing and look so cute. I'm off to make some more.
Later on today... JYC posting! :)

JYC day 1

And I'm off! I am taking an online class again this year called "Journal Your Christmas" otherwise known as JYC. This is my first page. I'm scrapping a 6x12 album for the first time, it will be quite the challenge. The basic concept is that I take 15 mins out each day to create!
Today has sadly been manic! I left home for work at 7.30 this morning got home at 6.30pm then went dancing at 7:30pm and got home 10 mins ago! Its now half past midnight but I am damned if that would stop me from scrapping this page! LOL I have been waiting to do this for ages.
So yes, I am rambling but this is my page and I wanted to share! Christmas starts now! :) (I think I may already have said that about a dozen times this week already but I am feeling very festive!) Enjoy your Wednesday and I will be back later!

December is here!!

Where has the year gone!? Wow! December already and only 25 days until Christmas! Can you believe it?!

I went Christmas shopping in Croydon yesterday with my friend Nicki and we got so much shopping. The day started at 8am and finished at 4pm with lots going on inbetween! We managed to get quite a lot of gifts between us and luckily it all fitted in the car. After this photo was taken we took a trip to toysrus and filled the backseat too!

When we got back to mine we were so exhausted from all the walking we dumped everything on the floor!

I think we might make it a yearly tradition shopping on 30th November! We had a fun and productive day out.

Check back later this evening for my JYC post too!

Popcorn in a jar!

For some strange reason I am loving gifts in a jar this year. This is my latest for sale at my forthcoming craft fairs:

popcorn in a jar! I saw something similar in a shop recently for £12!!! So decided to make my own. Easy Peasy to make too at a fraction of the cost.

Can you believe it is the last day of November? I am so excited for December now. I plan to watch a Christmas movie every day and to take part in Journal Your Christmas (JYC) on Shimelles website again. I will be posting my 6x12 layouts on my blog daily. I am off out Christmas Shopping for my final gifts today and will wrap them up tonight before I go dancing too. Wish me luck for getting it all done! :)

Naughty or Nice?

Just thought I would share a really quick project. These take about 1 min to make each! I used mini notebooks from the £ shop - I seem to be spending a lot of time in there lately! You get 8 of them for £1 and for my American friends thats 8 notebooks for about $1.64 at the current exchange rate! I covered them in basic grey fruitcake paper, added some stickers I had floating around in my stash for the past 100 years and tied some ribbon at the top to make them look pretty. Eh voila! Perfectly sized for handbags and christmas shopping lists. They have 55 sheets of lined paper inside too.

Let Christmas Begin

Every year for the past 14 years my dance class help to celebrate the turning on of our towns christmas lights! This year was no exception.

It was bitterly cold and so the turnout wasnt what we hoped, but many of our dancers are ill at the moment so it's not wise coming out to dance in the darkness that is night time! This meant there were fewer of us than we are used too. It all went smoothly and to plan though and was pretty painless.

Each year I take a photo of me and my friend Nicki holding the camera at arms length, a kind of tradition! This year my mum tried to jump on in too! LOL

And you cant see me in this photo but I am in the back row middle! Hiding, but dancing!
I was soooooo cold I cant even begin to tell you. I feel like Christmas has officially started now though. oooh Its exciting. I cant wait to go shopping on Monday to finish all my shopping off. Then the wrapping. I love christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Treats

I am so sorry! I have been such a bad blogger lately haven't I. It comes from having too much to do and too little time and sadly my blog was the ball that I had to drop. I'm happily on a few days vacation from work now though (planning to get my christmas gift shopping completed and the gifts all wrapped up and ready to go, along with finishing all my craft fair goodies. Talking of which I wanted to share these with you today:

I think they look really adorable and they were super easy to make. Great gifts, cheap and so quick to make. All I have done is fill some jars (40p each) with maltesers (2 boxes for a £1 in the £1 shop at the moment). Cut a strip of paper from a 12x12 sheet - this is approx 12 x 5" - place some dry adhesive at each end of the paper, stick one end to the glass, wrap the paper around and then attach with the other adhesive end. Does that make any sense> it didnt as I was typing it! Basically wrap the paper around the jar.

I then used my cuttlebug to cut out a circle in the same paper which I adhered to the top of the jar. In both these instances I used e-z glue runner. I then used double sided sticky tape around the rim of the lid and popped some ribbon around that.

To decorate the front I cut a scalloped shape using my cuttlebug and spellbinders and stuck this on. Then Using my cricut (paperdolls) I cut reindeer at 3", gave them a red stickles nose and a beady eye.

I made a whole load of these in a big batch. I have run out of jars now, think I might need to go and get some more.

Materials and contents cost me approx £1.20 in total and I plan to sell these at the craft fair for £3.
